Children school year 1 and upwards who feel comfortable sleeping away from home for a night are welcome to come to the church Sleepovers.
They will come to the Friday children’s clubs as usual (Dazzlers, Beacons, Ignite & Lasers).
At 7.15pm we organise bedrooms and “unpack” (rather limited in a church hall, but we do encourage personal organisation and children enjoy the several “room inspections” vying with each other for extra points by leaving shoes tidily in pairs, placing teddy carefully on a pillow and making sure towels hang on the clothes drier with precision!).
Supper together, a meeting and quiet games finishes the evening. Activities the next day may include singing, stories, teaching, quizzes, crafts, walks... There’s never enough time to fit everything in.
Several of our leaders are qualified teachers and nursery workers and we have been running events of this kind for over 25 years.
The underlying aim of all our church work with children is to share with them the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, encouraging them to know a personal relationship with Him and learn how to live the Christian life. It is our experience along with other churches that very young children can understand and enjoy the reality of Christian teaching and that their understanding readily develops and deepens as they get older.
To book for Sleepovers and Teen Weekends, please collect a form from your Friday Night leader at Dazzlers, Beacons, Ignite & Lasers!
